The Purpose of The Introspeculator
The point of The Introspeculator is for any passing reader to take some time, read a neat little column, and come away with an interesting perspective. If you want to see more of that, you can follow or subscribe to the email list.
The content I post weekly is just for me, typically new progress on whatever silly creative project I happen to be working on at the moment. Currently, I’m writing a short story, mainly to see if I can even do it well. Each week, I post progress on a project like that, typically Monday morning.
In the background, I’m working on the shorter, more analytical columns that get posted on the Introspeculator homepage. For example, I’m currently doing a comprehensive piece on intelligence and wisdom, which will likely take a month or more to complete. These pieces are shorter, typically a couple thousand words, and are written in a traditional column format for the Introspeculator website.
I’m trying in some sense to articulate and properly format my life perspective while maintaining consistent progress on larger creative projects. I don’t mind if only people I know read it, but I believe any material of sufficient quality should be in the public domain, regardless of view count. I also don’t care if people know who I am or not; there’s a bunch of people who know I use the pen name T.B. Alexander, so nothing is really a secret.
I’m also not trying to advertise my name or be famous. People who put themselves on the internet as a brand have issues; they spend all their time preening in the mirror, flipping their phone around and filming themselves talking when nobody is around. It’s kinda weird when you really think about it; we all think it’s normal now for some reason.
